Pastor Kent has been serving as Pastor at Community Chapel since 2014. He grew up in North Iowa in Winnebago county in the community of Leland. Kent was converted to Christ through the television ministry of the Rev. Billy Graham at age 18. Kent was later baptized at First Baptist Church in Forest City Iowa. After graduating from high school in 1988 he attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa majoring in Business-Accounting (BBA). Feeling a call to pursue the ministry, he then completed the Master of Theology training in Pastoral Leadership (TH.M.) at Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas. He met his wife Melissa through the Operation Christmas Child ministry at Dallas Bible Church, where Kent also interned. The Hilleslands have a son Isaac (18) and a daughter Lauren (15). Before coming to Community Chapel, Kent served as pastor of a church in West Central Illinois and also served as an associate faculty member of Philosophy and Religion at John Wood Community College. Kent is passionate about proclaiming the truth of God’s Word and seeing people grow in their personal relationship with The Lord Jesus Christ.
